Recensione: the KILLERS – “Imploding The Mirage”

“Imploding The Mirage” è il disco numero sei dei the Killers. Il primo senza il chitarrista fondatore Dave Keuning.

Un album che nei suoi credits vede la produzione di Shawn Everett e Jonathan Rado dei Foxygen, oltre ai contributi di Lindsey Buckingham dei Fleetwood Mac, KD Lang, Weyes Blood, Adam Granduciel (War On Drugs), Blake Mills e Lucius.

Brandon Flowers cerca di portare la sua band verso il passato piuttosto che verso le produzioni luccicanti e rumorose dei precedenti dischi. Una introspezione alla ricerca di nuovi territori e zone sonore fino ad ora poco battute.
Ascoltando le dieci canzoni troviamo un po’ di country (My Own Soul’s Warning), un po’ di Springsteen (Dying Breed – Imploding the Mirage) un po’ di Coldplay (Lightning Fields) un po’ di Fleetwood Mac (Running Towards a Place) e un po’ di Tears For Fears (When the Dreams Run Dry ) ma alla fine troviamo i the Killers e il loro alt-rock sempre in crescita ed evoluzione.
