Ben Glenroy (Paul Rudd) è una star di film d’azione di Hollywood il cui debutto a Broadway viene interrotto da una morte prematura. Aiutato dalla co-protagonista Loretta Durkin (Meryl Streep), il trio si imbarca nel caso più difficile che abbia mai affrontato, mentre il regista Oliver tenta disperatamente di rimettere insieme il suo spettacolo.
