È il giorno dei MTV Video Music Awards 2026. La 43ª edizione dei VMAs si svolge questa sera, domenica 27 settembre, al Peacock Theater di Los Angeles, con Snoop Dogg alla conduzione.
La cerimonia torna sulla West Coast per la prima volta dal 2017.
Madonna, aprirà questa edizione dei “VMAs” con la sua prima esibizione dal vivo alla manifestazione dopo 23 anni, insieme ad alcuni ospiti speciali. L’artista mantiene il primato per il maggior numero di candidature (13 nomination); segue Taylor Swift con 11 nomination. Tra gli altri principali candidati figurano Sabrina Carpenter (9), Ariana Grande (8), Bruno Mars (6), PinkPantheress e Zara Larsson (5 ciascuna), oltre a Charli xcx, Ella Langley, GENER8ION, KATSEYE, LISA, Olivia Rodrigo e Yung Lean (4 nomination ciascuno).
Tra i presentatori dello show ci saranno anche: Alex Warren, Belmont Cameli, Charli xcx, Ciara Miller, David Corenswet, Ella Bright, Isabel May, Jeff Probst, Rachel Dratch, Teyana Taylor, Tyla e Troye Sivan.
Menzione speciale per Taylor Swift che riceverà il primo MTV VMA Artist Director Honors, un nuovo riconoscimento dedicato agli artisti musicali che, attraverso il loro lavoro dietro la macchina da presa, hanno contribuito ad ampliare le possibilità espressive del videoclip musicale e a far progredire l’arte della narrazione visiva. Inoltre, il video musicale ufficiale del nuovo brano dell’artista, “Patient Zero” (tratto da The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore) farà il suo debutto mondiale durante lo show. Il video è diretto dalla stessa Taylor Swift e vede protagonisti Colin Farrell e Dakota Johnson. La fotografia è firmata dal vincitore del Premio Oscar® Emmanuel Lubezki (The Revenant, Birdman, Gravity).
Inoltre, nel corso della serata, RAYE, SOMBR e Teddy Swims si esibiranno insieme in una performance speciale per rendere omaggio al genio musicale e icona globale George Michael.
