Gli U2 tornano con nuova musica. Street Of Dreams, il nuovo singolo della band irlandese.
Si tratta del primo singolo estratto dal nuovo album in studio della band, il cui titolo non è stato ancora annunciato. Sarà il primo album degli U2 dopo nove anni, la cui pubblicazione è prevista nel corso di quest’anno.

Il videoclip del brano è stato girato a Città del Messico a maggio, dove la band ha anche partecipato alla finale del torneo della “Street Child World Cup 2026” al Parque Ecològico Lago de Texcoco.
Le riprese vicino a Plaza Santo Domingo hanno attirato una grande folla di fan nonostante il maltempo imminente. Tuoni e pioggia hanno inaspettatamente causato il guasto di un generatore, e una famiglia del posto ha accolto i quattro membri della band nel proprio appartamento per permettere loro di finire le riprese dal loro balcone.
Prodotto da Jacknife Lee, “Street of Dreams” propone l’inconfondibile sound degli U2 creato da Bono, The Edge, Adam Clayton e Larry Mullen Jr., che a settembre celebreranno il 50º anniversario della formazione del gruppo.
La band nacque dopo che Larry affisse un biglietto scritto a mano sulla bacheca della scuola al Mount Temple Comprehensive di Dublino, con la scritta:
Cercasi batterista per formare una band.”
“Street Of Dreams” arriva dopo la pubblicazione a sorpresa degli EP “Easter Lily” e “Days Of Ash”, diffusi in primavera come prime anticipazioni del nuovo progetto discografico della band. Due lavori brevi ma strategici, pensati come segnali di un ritorno creativo dopo la lunga stagione dedicata alla celebrazione del catalogo storico e agli spettacoli immersivi di Las Vegas.
