“Wake Up And Smell The Coffee”, quinto capitolo discografico dei Cranberries, appartiene alla seconda categoria.
Per “Wake Up And Smell The Coffee” i Cranberries ritrovarono Stephen Street, il produttore che aveva contribuito a definire il suono dei primi due album, “Everybody Else Is Doing It”, “So Why Can’t We?” e “No Need To Argue”.
Trainato dai singoli Analyse e Time Is Ticking Out, “Wake Up And Smell The Coffee” segnò un’evoluzione del sound della band. Il batterista Fergal Lawler conferma:
Creativamente, Dolores era in grande forma.”
