Ai BRIT di quest’anno Olivia Dean è la protagonista.
L’artista ha conquistato ben 4 Brit: Artist of the Year, Album of the Year, Best Pop Act e Song of the Year grazie al duetto “Rein Me In” con Sam Fender. Una consacrazione che la proietta fuori dalla dimensione emergente per collocarla in un territorio già maturo, dove scrittura e presenza scenica coincidono.
Sul fronte internazionale, “APT” di Rosé e Bruno Mars ha ottenuto l’International Song of the Year, mentre Rosalía si è aggiudicata il titolo di International Artist of the Year, confermando la sua capacità di attraversare i mercati senza smarrire identità e tensione sperimentale.
Premi anche per Geese, che salendo sul palco per ritirare l’International Group of the Year hanno trasformato il momento protocollare in dichiarazione politica. Il frontman Max Bassin ha liquidato il discorso con un perentorio “Free Palestine, fuck ICE, go Geese”, chiamando in causa direttamente l’U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement e ricordando come il pop resti anche arena di conflitto simbolico.
La cerimonia, ospitata alla Co-op Live Arena di Manchester, ha premiato anche Fred again.., Lola Young e Wolf Alice, restituendo un’immagine stratificata della nuova produzione britannica.
